LG webOS TV
Install. Pair. Start casting.
K12Cast supports compatible LG consumer TVs running webOS 5.0 or newer.
Install and pair
- Open the LG Content Store on the TV, search for K12Cast, and install the app.
- Launch K12Cast. The TV displays a short, temporary pairing code.
- On another device, sign in to your organization’s K12Cast administration dashboard.
- Open Admin → Displays, choose Add display, enter the TV code, and assign a display name and building.
- The TV confirms pairing and begins receiving authorized schedules, presentations, classroom sessions, and alerts.
Pairing a TV always requires approval from an authorized K12Cast administrator. Never share a pairing code outside your organization.
Network requirements
- Reliable internet access and outbound HTTPS on TCP port 443 to
cast.k12first.com. - Correct TV date and time so secure certificates can be validated.
- For screen sharing across restricted networks, the organization may need approved WebRTC STUN/TURN connectivity.
- Network filters should allow the media and integration domains administrators intentionally add to K12Cast.
If the TV will not connect
- Confirm another app on the TV can reach the internet.
- Restart K12Cast from the LG launcher and choose Try again if the recovery screen appears.
- If a pairing code expires, leave the app open; a new code is created automatically.
- If the TV was previously paired, ask an administrator to confirm that the display is active and has not been revoked.
- Restart the TV after installing a webOS firmware update.
Consumer TV limitations
LG consumer TVs require a user to launch applications and may apply system screensaver or energy-saving behavior. Configure the television according to your organization’s operating policy. Sites that require guaranteed power-on launch, locked inputs, centralized television management, or continuous commercial signage operation should evaluate LG commercial webOS Signage hardware.
