K12 First
Terms of Service
Effective July 15, 2026
These terms govern access to K12Cast, including its web administration service, classroom tools, display players, and the K12Cast application for LG webOS TVs. An organization’s signed order, service agreement, data-protection agreement, or other written contract with K12 First controls if it conflicts with these online terms.
Authorized use
K12Cast is provided to schools, districts, education organizations, and their authorized personnel and participants. Users must follow their organization’s policies and use only the accounts, buildings, displays, and content they are permitted to access. Display pairing requires approval by an authorized organization administrator.
TV application
The LG webOS application is free to install but requires an active K12Cast organization account to receive managed content. Installation does not create a K12Cast subscription. The app must be paired from the organization’s K12Cast administration dashboard before it can display private organization content.
Customer content and responsibilities
Organizations retain their rights in content they submit. They grant K12 First the limited rights necessary to host, process, transmit, resize, render, and display that content to provide K12Cast. Organizations are responsible for ensuring they have permission to use their content, participant information, feeds, integrations, and third-party media.
Users may not use K12Cast to violate law; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; distribute malware; bypass permissions; interfere with service operation; display unlawful or harmful material; or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, devices, networks, or data.
Classroom and live features
Teachers and administrators are responsible for moderating quizzes, participant queues, screen shares, live boards, captions, recordings, and content shown to students or public displays. Availability and quality of real-time features depend on compatible devices, local network policy, internet connectivity, and any required STUN/TURN or media services.
Availability, updates, and third parties
We work to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, network outages, incompatible media, third-party services, device limitations, and events outside our control may affect availability. K12 First may update the service and TV application to improve security, compatibility, or functionality. Third-party content and integrations remain subject to their own terms.
Security and account control
Users must protect their credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Administrators are responsible for role assignments, delegated permissions, display access, and removing users or devices that should no longer have access. K12 First may suspend access that threatens security, violates these terms, or is required by law or contract.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, K12Cast is provided subject to the warranties, service levels, remedies, limitations, and liability allocation in the organization’s written agreement with K12 First. If no written agreement applies, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties, and K12 First’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Termination
An organization or K12 First may terminate service as permitted by the applicable agreement. On termination, display access can be revoked and organization data will be handled under the agreement, retention requirements, and the K12Cast Privacy Notice.
